YKVN Receives "Asset & Corporate Finance Deal of the Year" Award for Its Role in Vietnam Airlines ECA-supported Airbus Financing
Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City (March 28, 2005) -- YKVN received the "Asset & Corporate Finance Deal of the Year" award from the editors of Asian Legal Business (ALB), a leading journal covering legal transactions for its role as Vietnamese legal advisor for Vietnam Airlines in the Vietnam Airlines ECA-supported Airbus financing. The award also names White & Case LLP, who acted as international legal advisor for Vietnam Airlines, and Norton Rose, who acted as international legal advisor for the lenders. ALB announced its Deals of Year Awards - SE Asia 2005 on March 18 in Singapore. Nominations covered significant deals that were completed in 2004 in South East Asia in insolvency & restructuring, asset & corporate finance, structured finance & securitisation, project finance, equity, debt (and equity-linked) and mergers & acquisition. According to ALB, "[t]he asset finance deal of the year will be a structured finance transaction involving any one of a number of assets including aircraft, ships, cars, rolling stock, hospitals, toll roads, prisons, tunnels, rail infrastructure and bridges. The financing may involve a domestic or cross-border lease, a securitisation, a hybrid issue, mezzanine debt and subordinated debt instruments." The Vietnam Airlines ECA-supported Airbus financing was selected as the "Asset & Corporate Finance Deal of the Year" out of 6 high-profile deals in the region.
