Mr. Luu Tien Dzung is a Partner of the firm who focuses on corporate transactions and dispute resolution. His transactional experience is summarized under Major Assignments below.
Dzung also has extensive Vietnamese litigation experience. From 1993 to 1998 he was a Law clerk to the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam and has also been a legislative drafter for over 3 years with the Legal Research Department (now the Adjudication Science Institute) of the Supreme People's Court. Dzung has assisted the Chief Justice on a number of precedent setting judgments involving complex commercial and corporate disputes.
Dzung also has substantial legislative drafting experience. He participated in drafting the Supreme People's Court adjudication guidelines, the Civil Code and the Civil Procedures Code. He was part of the expert group assisting the National Assembly revise the Constitution of Vietnam in 1992.
Dzung was National Program Legal Analyst for UNDP for 5 years and was responsible for the Legal/Judicial Reform and Human Rights section in Hanoi. In this capacity, he has undertaken a number of significant assignments related to capacity assessment and building in certain sectors of the Vietnamese legal system.
Dzung also had a working experience in international legal practice while he was seconded at DLA Pipers Pte. Limited in Singapore from June 2008 to August 2009.
Dzung was granted a Fulbright Scholarship, UNDP Democratic Governance Fellowship, Freeman Spogli Fellowship of Stanford University and Carroll Sample Award of School of Law, University of Iowa.
Dzung is fluent in Vietnamese, English and Russian.
